The Collington Yard of the Month for May 2017 is the home of Don and Michelle Hines at 11215 Longtown Drive. While May has been a tough month to get a lawn started Don and Michelle have worked diligently to have a well trimmed, weed free, and colorful lawn. They have only been in their new home for two years and they have developed the landscaping themselves. They have incorporated energy saving solar lights for accent and have attracted a family of deer that have taken up residence in the wooed area adjacent to their property. Don is retired from the U.S. Air Force and does most of the grunt work. Michelle is still employed outside the house and she does the selection of the flowers and other plantings. Their suggestion to other Yard of the Month candidates is to be proactive year round with fertilizer and weed control.
In addition to having the pleasure of placing the Yard of the Month sign in their front yard, Don and Michelle received a $25 Lowes gift card from the HOA so they can continue improving their home.
